What are you seeking today? Where is your heart dwell?

Psalm 27:4 our memory verse for April says, "One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple."

This verse challenges our hearts and minds to choose the Lord and seek after him our whole life. We need to look at the beauty God has made of our life and constantly search for His purpose & plan. As verse 3 says "we can be confident" even when things are not pleasant and we are facing adversity, but we can also dwell in the safety of God and know that He is always working for His glory and our good.

On Palm Sunday, April 13th, We had a joyous time reflecting on Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Pastor showed us in John 12:12-19 the different responses of those who were present when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and came as a King of peace.

The big idea is: "How do you seek Jesus?" and Pastor spoke of 3 responses that we can each have in our own lives towards who Jesus is to us.

"Have you faced rejection? Rejection often prevents us from seeing how God could possibly use us for His purposes. If others reject us, surely God must reject us."

We had a lovely time of fellowship, worship and growth on Sunday, April 6th. Pastor Mike challenged our hearts with the thought that "God’s choosing us is based upon His sovereignty, not man’s decision." He talked about 3 ways that we experience rejection by man and that God does not follow man's standard. In Genesis 29:15-30 we saw how Leah faced rejection but was ultimately used by God to complete His sovereign plan.

Our Growth Project: Where are you experiencing rejection? How are you responding to that rejection? Are you resting in the Lord or attempting to manipulate other so that they will somehow accept you? Are you willing to allow God to use you in your lowly, weak, and foolish condition? He desires to accomplish His sovereign purposes in and through us for His glory!
